New York Time 9/9/91
Worthy flashback article from this date in '91. Highlighting the 9 show run, the influence of dead in the 90's and Jerry's summary of how the addition of Bruce and Vince influences the groups historic dynamic.

Good schtuff here
Fun show. Great run. BRUCE!!!
The LLR is excellent. I've always loved this version, especially how Bobby emotionally says over and over, "I can't take no more rain today no!" Nice.

The GD usually played very well, but sometimes, when they made horrible gaffs, it stunned you momentarily, but, fortunately, ...
...the integrity of the recording covers a multitude of errors.
This recording is a big phat humongous presentation of what was an average night with better than average moments. If the performance was a bit better, it would merit a full out 5 stars.
Thank you Archives. Thank you CM & JA. Thank you Grateful Dead.

This show isn't bad, but doesn't have much beyond basic versions of the list. The Morning Dew is great. Still, the previous night and following night are more interesting for sure.

Cant Even Listen to The Who
I used to go to Dead concerts and dance like there was no tomorrow. At the end of the concert I would yell and howl for as long as it took for them to come back and to know how much I appreciated them. I used to consider The Who in my top three bands of all time behind The Beatles and the Dead. I now turn off their songs when they come on the radio.
Late last night I was listening to this concert and really enjoying it. No song is the best ever, lyrics are occasionally messed up, but it made me smile. It made me smile that after all these years of listening since 12/31/71, unlike The Who, I am not sick of hearing them, that I still love their music, and that is after downloading and intently listening for two years since I discovered GDLive and now this great site. Song after song, time after time, and they still make me smile and I still marvel. How many times can I listen to Looks Like Rain and yet, I still love it. How many times can I listen to Morning Dew and yet, still consider it one of the most awesome songs of all time. This is not the greatest concert ever but it is very good and any concert that has Morning Dew is automatically elevated. I still love the Dead, yet cant even listen to The Who. 5 Stars!

High Time Teaser
Man, I always loved it when Jerry would play the first handful of chords for a tune, then change his mind. The High Time Teaser before Loose Lucy is exactly that. I am sure there was a handful of heads that really wanted that High Time when they heard Jer start it up. 1st set is pretty rocky. 2nd set is better, still not as hot as 1991 got when they were on.

More MSG greatness
Great show overall. The first set is pretty standard, but the second set is out of this world! The Dew and the Playin' reprise are incredible. Great sound...man I love the archive.

My fav post Brent show...
The quality of this is recording stellar. There are also some great AUD tapes from these shows that circulate. This is my favorite show of the post-Brent era. I didn't go to too many shows in the 90's so I don't have a lot to choose from, but I saw a couple of dogs, and a couple of decent shows, but this one was the best, top to bottom. Listening to the tape, I love the little jam that happens in New Speedway. Weir's slide playing starts as a nice comp behind Garcia, and then kind of jumps into the foreground. Still a hint of the old spark!

this was a solid show
the new speedway is what stands out in my mind and a totally whacked out tv show put on public access afer the show which was obviously intended to those not quite down from the show yet which was at once bizarre and hilarious - like everything the dead does indescribable....
